This 9 hour course will provide candidates with knowledge of the parameters of basic food safety practices as relevant to the catering industry.

Achievement of the qualification at level 2 will enable learners to identify how to make changes to catering practices in order to improve the safety of the catering service as a whole.

The Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering is for anybody who has responsibility for food safety in a supervisory position.

You'll have some experience in a full or part time position within the hospitality sector and be looking to take on more responsibility for food safety at work.

You need to achieve 35 credits to pass this course:

31 credits from the mandatory units
4 credits form option units

• This provides an excellent preparation for the Level 3 diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce.
• The course will give you occupational competence to work under supervision and enable practitioners to count in the ratio at level 2 as identified in the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation stage.

This is an introduction to working with children focusing on:

• Keeping safe
• Encouraging children to eat healthily
• Books, short stories, poems and rhymes for children
• Creative activities for children

Course length 30 hours: This course can be undertaken as part of the 16-18 Foundation Learning Programme or as a stand alone qualification for adults

This qualification is aimed at new entrants in the cleaning industry or at experienced workers who do not yet have a qualification recognised within the industry.

It is particularly appropriate for people whose role includes one or more of the following; the cleaning of building interiors and exteriors, highways and land,
carpets and floors, food premises, passenger transport vehicles or caretaking.

Start Date: Flexible throughout the year.

Course Length: 12-14 months

This qualification is aimed at learners who are progressing into supervisory, team leading or management roles within the cleaning industry.

It is particularly ppropriate for people whose role includes one or more of the following: supervising staff, health and safety, customer service, recruitment of staff, controlling cleaning resources and training cleaning staff.

Course Length: 12-14 months

The Certificate in Hospitality Level 1is for anyone new to Hospitality or starting your first Hospitality Job. This qualification is aimed at people who would like to learn new skills and develop your abilities to work within this area.

If you want to get started in the hospitality industry and want to work as a kitchen assistant or trainee Chef, have a good basic understanding of catering to enable you to succeed in a job or move on to further study this qualification is for you.

Whatever area of catering and hospitality you're interested in, we have an Introductory Certificate in Hospitality to suit you.

You do not need a job or work placement to take this qualification it will be delivered within Sheaf Training's real working environment.

Within this Diploma there are three pathways:

1. Early Learning and Childcare pathway – suitable for practitioners delivering the Early Years Foundation stage.

2. Social Care pathway – suitable for practitioners in children’s residential care.

3. Learning Development and Support Services pathway – suitable for Connexions staff and Learning Mentors.
